June Lake is the name that the Alexander Family chose for their new development that will be located on Buckner Lane in Spring Hill. The site at 2660 Buckner Lane and Alexander Farms, which has a total area of 775 acres, is going to be redeveloped into a neighborhood with a mix of residential and commercial uses, and it will serve as a gateway to the city of Spring Hill.
“June Lake, in our opinion, captures the atmosphere of a late spring day in the countryside, when time seems to stand still and neighbors congregate by the lakeside. According to Don Alexander, a member of the family and project manager at commercial real estate firm Southeast Venture, which is assisting the family in developing the property, “It’s an homage to the rural heritage of Spring Hill that, we believe, also conveys a sense of sophistication and centrality – all key attributes of the vision for this development.” “The name honors Doris June Alexander, the matriarch of the Alexander family, and Lake refers to the 11-acre lake that will be a prominent public amenity within the project,” according to the developers.
The updated zoning for the first phase of the project was authorized in August by the Spring Hill Board of Mayor and Alderman (BOMA), which is located in the northwest corner of the land. This phase entails the enlargement and realignment of Buckner Lane to intersect with Thompson Station Road further east. Because of this, there will be improved visibility and a more secure ability to govern traffic. During this phase, we will also be creating the required infrastructure to support the construction of an eagerly awaited commercial district.
This project is taking place at the same time as the construction of a new interchange at Interstate 65 and the enlarged Buckner Road, for which the design-build contractor will be announced in January. The funding for this new interchange has been secured in full. It is anticipated that the interchange as well as the connection from Buckner Lane to Lewisburg Pike would be finished no later than the month of September 2023.
The following are included as part of the overall entitlements for the development: More than 2,900 residential apartments, 3.9 million square feet of Class A office space, over 1.3 million square feet of retail and restaurant space, and 400 hotel rooms are all included in this development.
The relocation of Bucker Lane will mark the beginning of the First Phase, which is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2021.
